Proms Are Awkward

Hello there, my fellow fairy princesses and socialites!

Here are some simple tips on making your prom night MAGICAL~

All of these are from personal experience.

Tip #1: Please, don't expect too much

Yeah, if you expect a night of lovey-dovey, fairytale romance, prepare to be disappointed. Except for eating and taking photos, a prom doesn't really have that much to it. It's basically as shallow as the committee that has organised it.

Tip #2: Girls, don't cake your face

This is obvious. If you want to make it a fun night, please don't look ridiculous. If you have foundation, don't use the whole bottle on just your cheek. I saw a few people at prom who looked like they were stuck in a desert for their whole life. Also, it's best that if you DO use make-up, to use as little as possible. The less you put on your face, the more healthier you look and less I would want to attack your face with a baby wipe. Please, don't look like you belong in the circus. TINY bits of foundation (that matches the colour of your skin), tasteful lip colour, and minimal eyeshadow.

Tip #3: Don't rely on the committee

Also, don't worry if you don't win "prom queen". Trust me, your judging panel will be REALLY shallow. Honestly, from one glance at our prom queen, she was caked in chemicals and it looked like she was choking her own skin with coverup. I'm short-sighted,  so you can tell that it was a horrible case if you can see it THAT clearly.

Tip #4: If you want to save your feet, don't wear heels

The dance floor is mostly comprised of stomping and people jumping like it's a club. So, at prom, you are expected to at least do the awkward dance, if you are one of those studious types. Heels cause a lot of problems at prom, trust me.

Tip #5: Prom - The funny people you know = Not worth it

Other than prom being another dance party, it's also a photo opportunity, and that can sometimes be a little boring. ALWAYS accompany yourself with those who are entertaining and the life of the event. Without it, prom just seems a little dull.

Tip #5: Socialise

Things like compliments will get you far. Socialising is something you can do when things become a little awkward in prom, and they earn you lots of photo shots and potential acquaintances.

Tip #6: When you choose what you wear, always have the right image in mind

For example, the synonym for prostitute is never a good image for you. Always wear something tasteful. If you're a girl don't advertise your body too much, it's good to be proud of your body and how you look, but be careful to not expose a lot of skin. Please, don't be a tart. We don't like your kind of jam.
